  • I think the dogs want me to give them a bath. Now, where are they hiding? #
  • Trader Joe's has these cute herb trees and desktop holiday bushes. #
  • Left Home Depot sans a new toilet seat. Can not recall if we need a round or elongated one. Not as if I do not think on it daily. #
  • Walking behind this fellow fashionably wearing a short winter cape. Where can I get one? #NYC #
  • While running my errands I just found a new store, The Meadow, that sells finishing salts for cooking and exotic chocolates. #NYC #
  • Really need to break and run some errands RE http://bit.ly/f6NQg9. So enjoy all the creative and informative banter with colleagues here. #
  • I am really getting tired of this automatic Twitter spam and followers based on keywords. RRRRRR #
  • RT @mashable: State Department Official Warns Students Against Discussing WikiLeaks on Facebook, Twitter – http://on.mash.to/hun5bF // #smfh #
  • I will try a PDF or two with all three to try out for my needs #Papers #Mendeley #ColWiz #phdchat #phd #
  • Seems that when discussing #Papers and #Mendeley and #ColWiz that the Papers users are most devoted (at least this week). #phdchat #
  • Now that I have finally caught up on my RSS feeds (I WISH #FeedDemon would have a Mac version), need to run errands. #

  • Awen http://www.picbadges.com/awen/91224/ #
  • Enough out and about. Traveling home now for a movie while enjoying some nice new bourbon I picked up. #
  • Think I will watch a movie at home tonight unless any of my #NYC colleagues want to meet for a drink. #
  • On my way to meet one of my former students for lunch. #
  • Finished only half of today's errands. #
  • RT @frizzbarks: According to The Oatmeal: http://bit.ly/fSl16B @JeffreyKeefer: What is #ff ? // Wonderful! #
  • Anybody else out there in #phdchat #phd use #Papers http://bit.ly/eOBOyb for research document management? #
  • I think I want to play a computer / online game, and not sure where to start. Many seem to have high learning investments. #
  • Getting a later start with my errands this morning than I expected. #
  • What is #ff ? #
  • I am satisfied using EndNote / RefWorks for bibliographies, but need to better manage who said what and where in the papers #phd #phdchat #
  • What application do you suggest to manage the 183 articles I read and notated to determine if they could be used in my paper? #phd #phdchat #
  • So, I submitted a research paper a bit late this week as I was overwhelmed with processing the literature. #phd #phdchat #

Jeffrey’s Twitter Updates for 2010-12-03

  • TOo late to begin laundry, but there is only so long I should really put it off. #
  • I have an early day tomorrow. Nice way to end the week. #
  • Seems #ICQI #QI11 just extended the deadline for abstracts. There may be hope yet. #
  • Does anybody use RefWorks to manage bibliographic references? #phdchat #phd #
  • I am planning to try a number of the reference management apps that were discussed yesterday during #phdchat #
  • RT @JaneDavis13: @Eingang your profile makes your research activity look fascinating! #Phdchat / / All except the blond desccriptor! #
  • RT @klang67: @JeffreyKeefer haha know what you mean! Its like a constant cocktail party. Interesting when you are in the mood = Twitter. #
  • Need to unfollow those who Tweet a lot, though never to me. #
  • Ahh, perhaps the problem is that I again am following too many people on Twitter? Too much to read makes it easy to fall behind. #
  • Catching up on reading Tweets from yesterday. How can I respond to them now that the context is historical and we are in a different place? #
  • Too bad I could not submit for #ICQI as I have really enjoyed the Qualitative Congress. Alas–no paper, no attendance. #
  • Yes, they were fantastic. I never felt the vocal range as hearing that variety of male voices in that space. #
  • #Chanticleer was amazing at the #MetMuseum How could it be any better than in the Medieval Sculpture Hall? #

  • Come to think of it, this concert of #Chanticleer is the first where I recall men being listed as sopranos. #MetMuseum #NYC #
  • At the #MetMuseum of Art to hear Chanticleer. #
  • Alas, I have a meeting to attend, and will have to duck out of #phdchat early. Will reply and share more asynchronously. Cheers. #
  • I have seen some people use #CAQDAS tools, such as #MAXQDA used for literature reviews, as they can handle themes. Anybody try? #phdchat #
  • Does anybody track notes from articles in any tables or other way to see themes across them? #phdchat #
  • I struggle with tracking notes; I take them in pencil in the margins. Anybody have a more efficient method to handle them? #phdchat #
  • I am using a Method of Inquiry Table to track what keywords I search and in which database, along with the number of results #phdchat #
  • I like using EndNote. Never got into Zotero. Doesn't Zotero have to be embedded in Firefox? #phdchat #
  • I also like literature reviews to identify areas of future research, not to mention to identify others working in a similar area #phdchat #
  • I think part of the value of a literature review is to see how concepts have already been developed. #phdchat #
  • Just had #MAXQDA http://bit.ly/aOXckN the Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis (#CAQDAS) program installed on my work computer. #
  • I am going to attempt to join the #phdchat today via my #UberTwitter on my BlackBerry; Twitter is blocked in my office. #
  • It seems our presentation last night went well. It was very well attended by much of the clinical management within my organization. #
