Google’s Holiday Logos

Logo_60wht Do you like the Google logos that regularly change, depending on the holiday and event? Google has mastered the ability to incorporate holiday symbols while still maintaining their corporate look and feel.

All this made me wonder–is there a specific location to see all of these logos in one place? I Googled that (of course!), and there sure is! All of Google’s special logos are listed on their Holiday Logos page. It also makes sense that there is a single graphic artist who creates all of  them–Dennis Hwang.

I needed a little levity before my new online class begins tomorrow, so this is it. Hey, different people find different ways of preparing. Good lesson in there for me, I think . . .

Jeffrey’s Twitter Updates for 2008-09-19

  • Just noticed the new Twitter designs. Rather dull changes; look like the Twitter staff does not invest much in design or usability. #
  • Also realized I have been so busy that I have hardly Tweeted at all this week. Wow. #
  • Busy morning. Have lots to get done before I leave today. #
  • Plan to see the preview for the new Van Gogh show about to open at the MOMA. #
  • Long line at Magnolia Bakery. #

Van Gogh and the Colors of the Night – MOMA Preview

A major Van Gogh show is opening this weekend at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). I attended the member’s preview today.

I love Van Gogh. Colors. Life. Struggles. Expression. Passion.

Spectacular paintings and drawings and such at this show, but . . . it was too cramped, dark, and confined. The show itself was seemingly everything Van Gogh was not. It is well worth seeing as there has never been this sort of show before, but claustrophobic and dimly-lit cramped space-fearing folks beware.

With so much space in this newly renovated and enlarged museum, is this really the best they could do for one of the most loved, respected, and tragic painters in Western Art?
