@JeffreyKeefer The notion of a “Melting Pot” is just more of whites ability to taste Other cultures but then return to exclusive white lives
@JeffreyKeefer I feel you’re missing the aspect of oppression and exploitation. Sampling white culture =/= whites’ racial tourism.
@JeffreyKeefer Nonwhites “borrowing” of white culture seen as normal, natural, mundane; sometimes is matter of survival in racist society.
@JeffreyKeefer But, whites have the power to pick and choose what aspects of Other culture they want to sample. But, exclude Other people.
