Running errands and waiting for some colleagues who are at the Hilton Westchster. I want coffee, but they recently had a nasty virus. [jeffreykeefer]

RT @Comprof1: I would be such a good employee for anyone looking for Intnatl mktg, comm, mgmt, training; social media admin; workplace writ… [jeffreykeefer]

Trying to extend my community to meet some of my expanding needs as adjunct university faculty, though have not found a Twitter chat. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
#Adjuncts include those #ECRchat people looking for FT uni work, but also those who do not plan to teach more. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley I have been thinking about this #AdjunctFaculty need; wondering if there would be an interest in #AdjunctChat or #AdjChat [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley #Adjunct as a term in the US is anybody who teaches in HE who is not FT ternure-track or FT clinical faculty. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley None of those terms are widely used in the US, where 70% of all faculty are now considered #Adjuncts. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley So do you think #AdjunctChat works? [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley Ahh, we have tenure track or clinical (=FT but not tenure). All else is #Adjunct (except TA teaching or the like). [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley Hmm, let me play around with this a little. Perhaps if #AdjunctChat takes off we can include casual in its "definition"? [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley Yes, though #ECRchat is more for people seeking FT HE positions, which is something that will not happen to most adjuncts. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley Yes, let me reach out and see about this. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley Thinking about #ECRchat, if person will never teach or research FT, not sure if Early Career Researcher fits. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley Alas, #ECRchat has not seemed to have caught on in the US for various reasons, so perhaps something else is needed. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley Thanks for the most helpful feedback. Nice how these things work! [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
Do you think an #AdjunctChat would be useful or supportive for those who teach as adjuncts in some capacity? Please RT [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley This is all very helpful. Thanks! [jeffreykeefer]

@JackieKirkham @BronwynHemsley These international issues make conversations so rich, as they show our similarities and differences. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@BronwynHemsley @JackieKirkham Interestingly! I am interested in understanding these issues. Alas, the curse of research passion! [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@JackieKirkham @BronwynHemsley Indeed, the small things are valuable! [jeffreykeefer]

@literarychica @peoplegogy @raulpacheco @savasavasava Can you RT to your network for more thoughts and feedback? [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@literarychica I agree, it can fill a need that will fit into the larger, extended HE puzzle of participation. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@JackieKirkham @BronwynHemsley Alas, many #adjunct in the US are not early career researchers. Many won’t ever work FT teaching in HE. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@EARLI2013 @jure2013 Any thoughts about putting the #EARLI2013 and #JURE2013 tags on the conference websites and Twitter accounts? [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
@literarychica Yes, the world is more complicated now than we used to pretend years ago. [jeffreykeefer]
twitter (feed #2)
Seems there may be interest in an #AdjunctChat after all. Thanks for the RTs https://t.co/8XIu27R6Vn #phdchat #HE #ECRchat #altac #phd [jeffreykeefer]

I have been wanting a community for support & suggestions concerning teaching, lifestyle, and HE issues common to adjuncts #AdjunctChat [jeffreykeefer]
