Congratulations to Al Gore for winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to raise awareness about the issues surrounding global warming, or what I like to refer to as Global Climactic Change.
In the company of Desmond Tutu, Muhammad Yunus, Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter, the Dalai Lama, and Mother Teresa, Al Gore seems to have accomplished more after his “official” role in the government than while he was vice president. I wonder if that is at all significant?
Gore winning a Nobel prize is analagous to Madonna being inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame. Congratulations to the Nobel committee of imbeciles for forfeiting all remaining credibility, as did the HOF braintrust years ago.
While it does not appear you apprciate Madonna, it may be difficult to dispute her influence on music, which is what her induction signifies. Doesn’t the same apply to Gore? Regardless of his politics, can it also not be stated that his work raising awareness on climactic change is about the only thing that has even made the current US president begin to take the issue seriously, especially when faced with growing global concern over this issue.
BTW, what is “HOF?”
