Lyotard and Baudrillard for Educational Technology

There is a very interesting discussion going on over at SCoPE on the Virtual Museum Project. It made me consider my favorite postmodern thinker, Jean-Francois Lyotard, as well as another colorful character, Jean Baudrillard, and how and why I saw them both as influential thinkers in the history of educational technology.

Any other Lyotard fans out there in the world of adult education and educational technology?

What I neglected to mention in this post is that I spent some time in the SCoPE forum explaining why and how I find Lyotard and Baudrillard relevant for educational technology and technology enhanced learning. Click the link to go to my more extended thinking.

Hi, Jeffrey. I read your perspective on Lyotard and Baudrillard. I studied about them years ago…Interesting to see your point. Thanks for bringing in such an interesting view.

Thank you for the feedback, Carla. They both knocked my socks off when I first read them, and now that it has been some time, I am seeing some of the implications of their work all over, in nearly every aspect of education, technology, culture, politics, and the like in modern life.
