I find feedburner as frustrating as you. I have been testing the email subscription notification method for a week, and can't get it to work. Two guestions to the forums and no response. The troubleshooting list sucks, the how to list sucks, and I'm bascially fed up. Feedburner - get your bloody act together or go away. Is there another service that works for email notification that I could use

@John Smith
Feedburner has a WordPress plug-in that converts all the default blog feeds into a single one oriented to the Feedburner one. The problem I finally determined was that the default one it looks for, in my case http://silenceandvoice.com/feed, changed in the current version of WordPress (an unusual thing to happen, as defaults do not normally change).

I decided to use Subscribe2 because I prefer to self and internally manage these function rather than send it out (to Feedburner / Google), as when their systems do not work well (as has been the case), then I have no recourse whatsoever.

A comment and a question, Jeffrey:

Marshall Kirkpatrick suggested to me that it's better to hide all but one of your feeds (to drive people towards the Feedburner version, so you can gather stats easily). I wonder whether your experience makes that more problematic.

The question: why did you decide to use subscribe2? Had any problems with it?
