2017 Goals

Here is my Goal Statement for 2017:

Engage with Balance

Like 2016’s goal statement of Think, Believe, and Act with a Healthy Balance, I want to try to be proactive and follow my passions while not rushing into things (leaving me out of balance) or otherwise distracting me from my  commitments (or even what is good for me). I find that if I only follow my passions, I become increasingly frustrated with things that get in the way, and thus the balance that I so need to embrace, or more actively engage, is defeated. Of course, balance on its own is a meditative state that just does not reflect my passions, and thus the active engage I list with it.

Still aware of a need to manage (juggle?) mind, body, and spirit, I need to engage in them without clouding one over another . . . namely, to balance them. I know, I know, balance means different things to different people, and in this way of engaging with balance I can only speak to my own need to focus on it (anybody can make their own goals, after all!).

So, in practice, this is how I plan to get there:

  1. Reframe Challenges as Opportunities (one is negative, and one is positive. Which is easier to achieve?!)
  2. Delete-Do-File (email and social communication; with finite resources, let some things go)
  3. Learning + Sharing = Networking (how else  can we grown or consider thought leadership in any capacity? #Actor-network theory can help to open new venues for consideration, including through #SixtyBooks or #5Papers)
  4. Pay a Debt (one in particular; what can be as freeing?)

I blogged about this early in 2017, and welcome comments or suggestions there.
