thanks for sharing this Jeffery, I’m about to head into the final CPD/reflective practice session for the DTELLS (an ESOL subject specific teacher training course) course, where they are going to be viewing action plans, models of reflection and starting on their final ‘Lessons from the Classroom’ assignment.
As I was walking down here I was reminded of when I finshed my PGCE, where I felt that the reflection tasks were mundane and monotanous, and wondered a little how I could find out if they had similar views (and not be swayed by how upset I’d be if they were!)
Your post really highlights the power of reflection for a teacher and the importance of this to continue to develop throughout your career. I hope you won’t mind if I share this with my group.
