But in the longer term, think about what it means that the reviewers missed “your point”. I’ve found that usually means I have not understood something sufficiently to explain it properly — or, that I have included too much that is irrelevant. Be prepared to throw stuff out, not just revise. And be patient: getting to the point where people “get” your point may take some time and work.
